Novato batsmen rally, sting ACHS

Novato High capped a comeback with a two-run seventh inning to overcome American Canyon, 5-4, in Novato on Wednesday. The Wolves busted out three runs in the top of the fourth inning, but the Hornets scratched out runs in each of the remaining frames.

Hornets sophomore Cash Campbell was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while junior Dominic Scafani was 2-for-4 with a run. Sophomore J. P. Harmon scored twice and was 2-for-4.

Novato (5-1) is scheduled to play at Sonoma Valley on Friday night.

Terra Linda senior Sean Madden celebrated his 18th birthday as the low medalist, with a 36 to help the Trojans (5-1) edge San Marin, 209-214, at Indian Valley Golf Course on Wednesday. Noah Duncan carded 38 for the Mustangs.

Boys tennis

Redwood's Jackson Sichel commanded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top of the singles order as the Giants swept San Marin, 7-0, Wednesday in Larkspur. The Giants' Lukaa Berger held off the Mustangs' Milo Reyes, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, and Redwood's

Tito Adams and Jared Tuatini also won their singles matches.

• Archie Williams took home a 6-1 victory over San Rafael after sweeping singles play Wednesday. All three doubles matches were competitiv­e, with San Rafael winning a super tiebreaker to win at No. 3 doubles. The Peregrine Falcons' Johan Jacobs won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.

Men's lacrosse

Dominican University's furious rally effort in the fourth period fell just short in Wednesday's 13-10 loss to undefeated Davenport University, during the Penguins' road trip through

Illinois. Trailing 9-3 after three periods, the Penguins netted seven goals in the fourth, but Davenport responded with four more goals of its own. Per-Anders Olters led the Penguins (25) with four goals, while Luke Vando added three goals and assisted on another.

Boys volleyball

Terra Linda outlasted Novato in five sets on Tuesday, pulling out a 16-25, 2225, 25-13, 27-25, 15-11 victory. Jack Storey paced the Hornets with 12 assists, Graham Engelskirc­hen added nine kills and three digs and Andrew Stone had six aces, six kills, and three blocks.
