Drummer drives in five as San Rafael rolls

Thomara Drummer drove in five runs as San Rafael rolled to its sixth consecutiv­e win, an 11-0 victory in five innings against Mt. Diablo on Friday.

Drummer's big hit was a bases-clearing double to put the Bulldogs (12-2) ahead 11-0 in the bottom of the fourth. Sophia Everett reached base four times with a hit and three walks and scored three times. Angel Amesa had two hits and drove in two runs.

Drummer earned the win, working three innings with one hit allowed against eight strikeouts.

Boys volleyball

Redwood remained unbeaten in league following a 25-11, 25-17, 25-21 win against Novato (9-12, 1-5) on

Thursday. Auden Baker had 18 assists and six aces for the Giants (12-5, 5-0). Beckett Shewey had 12 kills and William Garland added seven kills. Gavin Atherton had nine digs.

• Ellis Chamberlin had 22 assists and 14 digs as Archie Williams posted a 2514, 25-21, 25-21 win against San Marin (2-11, 1-5) on Thursday. Nate Sampson had 10 kills for the Peregrine Falcons (14-7, 6-1) while Elias Garcilazo had 27 serve receives with no errors. Shane Duisenberg had three blocks, three kills and an ace.

Prep baseball

Redwood powered around three runs in the third inning during Friday's 4-1 victory over Heritage in the Service Champions Classic, hosted by Foothill.

Junior Kyle Brooks had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs and scored another. Juniors Matthew Knauer and Lucas Ghio also had two hits for the Giants (13-1), who advance in the champions bracket.

• San Marin (7-6) rallied from a three-run deficit, but eventually lost, 4-3, in nine innings against College Park in the other side of the bracket in the Service Champions Classic.

• Sophomore Cooper Mitchell was 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs to lead Marin Catholic past Branson, 9-3, on Friday. Senior Jayden Lee had two hits and four RBIs for the Wildcats (8-8, 6-4 MCAL).

College baseball

College of Marin swept Friday's doublehead­er with Contra Costa. Marin won the early game, 21-2, in seven innings as Wyatt Davis homered and tripled to drive in four runs and scored another four runs. The Mariners followed with a 19-7 win in the later game, as Dorian Foster, Matteo Bellisimo and Derek Bartram all homered for Marin (21-10, 10-2 BVC).

College softball

Dominican University lost both ends of Friday's doublehead­er against Biola, 5-0 and 3-2, in San Rafael. Tiare Guerrero led the Penguins (17-18, 10-10 PacWest) at the plate in the second game going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. Morgan Saucedo was the only Penguins player to register a hit in both games, finishing 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

Boys lacrosse

Marin Catholic's New Jersey swing continued Friday with an 11-6 loss to host Rumson-Fair Haven.

• Redwood lost to St. Margaret's, 10-9, on Friday in a non-league contest.

Prep track & field

The Tam boys swept the running events in Thursday's tri-meet with Novato and Terra Linda. The Redtailed Hawks' Nate Wagner was a double-winner in the 200 (23.91) and the 400 (51.76). The Hawks' Caeden Gardner took first in the 800 (2:04.18). Tam's David Keane won the 100 in 12.14 seconds.

Tam dominated the distance events, with Max Dunmire fastest in the 1,600 (4:32.77). The Hawks' Dylan Collister won the 3,200 (9:57.00). Tam won both relay events and Shea Sorcher won the 110 hurdles (17.30) and the 300 hurdles (42.86).

A battle between Tam's Emma Gardner and Terra Linda's Annie Carmona highlighte­d the girls competitio­n. Gardner won the 800 (2:24.33), in a narrow finish ahead of Carmona (2:24.57). Gardner (5:20.01) and Carmona (5:20.61) finished 1-2 again in the 1,600.

Tam junior Natalie Popper won the 100 hurdles (17.92) and 300 hurdles (54.52).

Terra Linda's Milena Taschian's personal-best 12.90 mark won the 100, ahead of Tam's Indeya Sanders (13.19), who later won the 200 (28.53). The Hawks' Ellery Barnes was first in the 3200 (12:03.63).
