Capt. Allen Sta­ples on Wyn­song weighed in the heav­i­est blue marlin at 699.3 pounds for first place in this year’s event. In sec­ond was Rocky Jones’ team on Reel Ad­dic­tion, with a 545-pound blue marlin, and A Work of Art’s blue marlin weighed in at 521.3 pounds for third place.

CAROLINA BILL­FISH CLAS­SIC June 20-23, 2018 Point Pleas­ant, South Carolina

Capt. Gary Richard­son and his team aboard Reel Pas­sion won first place, re­leas­ing one white marlin and seven sail­fish. Sportin’ Life placed sec­ond, with two blue marlin and two sail­fish re­leases, and Gran­der landed in third, with two blue marlin and one sail­fish re­lease.

BLUE MARLIN GRAND CHAM­PI­ONSHIP July 10-15, 2018 Or­ange Beach, Alabama

The win­ning blue marlin was landed on Capt. Marco Gaona’s 64-foot Vik­ing, Shock­wave, by an­gler Austin Blak­eney, and weighed a hefty 795.2 pounds. The tour­na­ment’s sec­ond-place fish went to boat owner Jon Gon­soulin on his 70-foot Vik­ing, Done Deal, at 640.8 pounds for his daugh­ter, an­gler Katie Gon­soulin. Fin­ish­ing third was a 598.2-pound blue marlin caught by an­gler Rick Olsen on his 68-foot Vik­ing, Breathe Easy.
