Thanks to new composite materials and advanced construction techniques, hulls are lighter and stronger than ever, although traditional fiberglass and wood remain popular choices as well. The segment from 70 to 90-plus feet has solidified their place in line, and outboard power is coming into its own, with several models designed specifically to take advantage of the new high-horsepower-engine choices now available.
