LENNY SCHELIN JR. MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT January 8-15 Fort Pierce, Florida

Cowpoke won this year’s memorial tournament with nine sailfish releases.

Lo Que Sea was second with eight, and Waterman finished in third place with seven releases. The tournament benefits glioblastoma research; Schelin was a local mate who died of glioblastoma in 2018.

IGFA LIGHT TACKLE OPEN January 25-27 Palm Beach Shores, Florida

Fish On released six sails for 1,200 points and the win. Sir Reel released three for second, while Saranita had two releases to finish in third place overall. Fish On’s Jamie Barnett was the event’s top angler with three sailfish releases on live bait, good for 600 points.

JUPITER BILLFISH CLASSIC January 27-30 Jupiter, Florida

The team on Lo Que Sea won this year’s event with 14 sailfish releases on dead bait. They were followed by Seven in second place with 10 on dead bait, and Remix, the top live-bait boat, in third with 20 releases. The 11-boat fleet tallied 119 sailfish releases over three days.
