THE PESCADORA February 17-19 Quepos, Costa Rica

The Tarheel team topped the standings in this popular all-ladies tournament in Costa Rica with 25 sailfish and 3,000 points; Jennifer Fields released 11 of those fish to earn Top IGFA Angler honors as well. Billfisher finished in second place with 2,040 points, and Scandalous was third with 1,900 points. A total of 40 teams participat­ed in this year’s tournament.

MARINA CASA DE CAMPO CHAMPIONSH­IP March 10-12 La Romana, Dominican Republic

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the team on Blackhawk picked up where they left off, repeating as the champions of the Marina Casa de Campo Open with eight blue marlin and two white marlin. J-Hook released four blues and one white to earn second-place honors. Chaser scored three blues and one white marlin for third place.

CHUB CAY CLASSIC March 17-19 Chub Cay, Bahamas

In-Sane-O won the Chub Cay Classic, hosted by Chub Cay Resort and Marina in the Bahamas. The team released two blue marlin and a sailfish for a total of 1,100 points. Sea-I-Sea finished in second place with one blue and three sails, followed by Big Stick in third with one blue and one sailfish. Twenty-four boats fished in the inaugural event.
