TRAVELING TO AUSTRALIA
The requirements change frequently, but as of press time, it is necessary to be fully vaccinated and submit a Digital Passenger Declaration form 72 hours prior to travel, which includes:
Providing your contact information, including a phone number while in Australia.
Providing a legally binding declaration regarding your vaccination status.
Declaring your previous 14-day travel history.
Declaring that you understand the quarantine and testing requirements that apply when coming to Australia, the requirements in the state and territory in which you are arriving, and the penalties for noncompliance.
It’s best to fly to either Brisbane or
Sydney. From either airport—with no border restrictions—domestic flights can be easily made to either Hervey Bay or Bundaberg. Hervey Bay is a lot closer to Fraser Island, especially if you are interested in whale-watching or touring the largest sand island in the world. The light-tackle fishing around this World Heritage island is also amazing.
