PLYMOUTH—The museum features the Historic Crossroads Center Transporta­tion Room which highlights the five national roads that run through Marshall County. Through the exhibit visitors can learn about the growth and expansion of the Lincoln Highway, Dixie Highway, Michigan Road, Grand Army of the Republic Highway and the Yellowston­e Trail.

The train room features several different scale model trains with lights and sounds and a conductor. There are several hands on items for visitors to explore the sounds of the past with a trolley bell, a slide whistle and other noise makers.

The Military Room offers a truly unique experience for visitors: the chance to view living history through a special project with Weidner School of Inquiry students. The students recorded personal interviews with World War II veterans as they shared their personal stories from the war. The videos are available for viewing in the Military room along with other memorabili­a from all branches of the military and wars.

The museum also includes a Research Library with a wealth of informatio­n about people and events in the county prior to the county’s establishm­ent in 1836. With several specialize­d researcher­s available to assist visitors as they seek to learn about the history of their family or previous residents.
