Plymouth Common Council
The Plymouth Common Council is the governing body of the City of Plymouth.
It has the power to enact ordinances, set tax rates, run the city utilities and make appointments to city boards.
The Common Council is the city’s
sSucth,.is rPespaonu- fiscal body and, as sible for setting the city budget each year, determining the tax rate, and spending the tax money once the state approves the rate.
The Council votes on matters like whether the city should start new programs, the changing of street names, grant requests, utility rate changes, and form new advisory boards.
The seven-member body meets the second and fourth-SMionncdeay1o8f each month with the ci-ty8c:le0rk0-traena-d surer, mayor and city attorney in attendance, as well as any city department heads who are asked to be there. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m.

Board of Public Works and Safety
The Board of Public Works and Safety is the manager of the city’s affairs and projects.
The BPWS consists of a five-member board, one of whom is the mayor. It meets to consider such things as personal matters, work on city facilities, study of city programs and claims for outstanding city bills.
The BPWS meets on the second and fourth Monday at 6 p.m.
The board consists of Mayor Mark Senter, Board Members Duane Culp, Jeff Houin, Shiloh Milner, and Bill Walters.

The City of Plymouth has a plan commission, board of zoning appeals, redevelopment commission, urban forestry and flower committee, board of aviation commissioners, and park board.
