BOURBON — Depth is always a concern for small schools when it comes to football. For Triton High School, that could actually be a strength for the 2022 season.

“We have an experienced team coming back. We anticipate having depth at multiple positions,” said head coach Rodney Younis, who is also the school’s new Athletic Director.

The returning lettermen include seniors Amari Snyder (WR, S), Cole Irvine (WR, CB), Evan Briles (TE, DE), Brayden Cunninghan (RB, LB), Reilley Wood (RB, LB), Trenton Conley (G, LB), Josh Lemler (C, DT), Landon Lemler (G, LB), Cameron Shively (T, DT) and Ethan Howell (T, DE), juniors Cole Shively (QB, CB), Anthony Schuh (RB, S), Tucker Worsham (T, DT) and sophomore

Dante’ Workman (Slot, CB).

Newcomers to watch are senior Izaiah Haines (T, DT), along with juniors Javan May (WB, LB), Kendrick Jones (G, LB) and Pierce Brookins (TE, DE).

“I expect us to play as a brotherhood and give our best effort,” said Younis, who is assisted by Zach Whittaker (Def. coordinator), Jeremy May (WR/LB), Brandon Stuart (RB/DB), Lee Bragg (OL/DL), Brock Vermillion (DL/OL), Kyle Bell (volunteer) and Brandon Haines (Hudl/Tech). “Our goals are to show improvement each week and to minimize our turnovers.”

The Trojans open on the road against South Central (Union Mills). The only other non-conference game is in Week 4 (at Bremen). Triton has started against SC the past four years - with four W’s - but the last three years the games have been decided by just 2, 3 and 2 points, respectively.
