From ‘ Hire to Retire’ - Plymouth Westrock FSP

-

Plymouth Westrock FSP is part of the larger 40,000 employee 78 location Westrock Corporation spanning 4 countries. As part of the Food Service Packaging division, Plymouth produces and distributes primarily corrugated clamshell packaging and is manufactured entirely from raw materials to Finished product at the over 240,000 square foot Plymouth location. The Plymouth Westrock facility has its roots within the community, as the original business was owned and operated by a local businessman that set a good foundation for active participation within the community by always looking to grow with the addition of local talent and encouraging employees to participate in their community. Westrock continues this tradition with many programs and contributions to local communities where facilities are located. Westrock promotes “safety first” at all levels of the organization and is dedicated to seeing to it that Team members remain safe and engage in a positive leadership environment.

Servicing primarily the Pizza and fast-food industries, Plymouth is the sole supplier for several national brands and distributes food containers across all North America, and for some customers around the world. This is a huge responsibility for the team at Westrock and one that is taken seriously by all involved with production and distribution. Understanding, especially during Covid – 19, that businesses depend on your product to sell their own shows just how close we are all connected with our business relationships. The positive relationships built with the national brands we service has led to tremendous growth over the last 2 years and we continue to look for and develop talent to continue that expansion plan. One of our guiding philosophies is “Hire to retire”. This outlook when hiring makes us look at not only the potential that a prospective applicant has right now, but what contribution they can have in the future. This outlook of hiring someone to develop and grow, and even retire from our company will allow this business to thrive and be a stable influence within the Plymouth community for years to come.
