Bin There Dump That: Family-owned and residential friendly

- Jacque Ryan Staff Writer

The owner of Bin There Dump That Michiana Ron Lee started his dumpster rental business at his kitchen table. Thanks to the support and dedication from his family and friends, who also serve as employees, he now owns several acres right off of US 31 in Argos and offers a variety of different services.

Catering to the needs of their customers is a top priority, according to Ron. He explained that most dumpsters work on a latch system that is more functional for operators rather than the consumer. The dumpsters they rent out have two doors which open from the ground level. This allows customers to walk in to place items directly in the unit rather than having to toss them over the walls into an opening on the top.

Ron said he understands that time is of the essence when it comes to situations that require a dumpster so they’re typically able to mobilize within 24 hours or less to guarantee customers are getting the unit when they need it. Individuals rent the units for 7 days at a time.

In addition to working with restoration companies and contractors, Bin There Dump That also offers their services for residential and commercial needs.

The drivers who deliver the dumpsters take extra steps to ensure that no damage is done to the area where the dumpster is placed by setting down protective items that keep the bin from coming into contact with the driveway or space.

Additionally, when they come to pick-up the unit, they bring along brooms and dustpans to clear away any debris that might have been left behind.

Ron stated that while working with customers, he noticed there were some unmet needs that he sought fill. There are certain things that people aren’t quite ready to part with or other items that need to be set aside or moved to a new location so Lee’s business added on storage unit rentals last October and began offering U-Haul services in December.

Bin There Dump That is a business that has operations all across the United States and Canada but

Ron and his crew cover the Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan territory. His crew consists of his son Derrick Lee and daughter Brittany Karling along with a number of other hardworking individuals including office employee Diane Hayden and drivers Dan Guseilla, Elliot Price and Ray Trump. Austin Bachtel, who was a a neighbor of the Lee’s, is also employed as a driver, works in the office and helps with various other aspects of the business.

Ron stated that the business wouldn’t be where it is today without the help of other family members including his wife, his father, and his father-in law.

Functioning as a tightknit unit, Ron said he feels blessed to work alongside friends and family members on the staff. Their commitment to each other and taking personal pride in what they do results in everyone doing what’s best for the business.

Another way that Ron sets his business apart from others that may offer similar services is by not charging any additional delivery or pick-up fees. The base price you see on their website is all that you’ll pay unless specified weight limits or travel distances are exceeded.

He noted that one of their most popular sizes is the 10 cubic yard dumpster. According to their

website, the container costs $359 and is described as working well for medium projects such as small kitchen remodels, roofing repairs, bathroom renovations and spring cleaning projects. A slightly larger model of 15 cubic yards is also good for medium projects and costs $409.

There are two dumpsters that are good for smaller projects; the 6 cubic yard dumpster has a base price of $309 while the 4 cubic yard unit costs $269.

The largest dumpster they offer, which is also a popular model, measures 20 cubic yards and costs $459. This unit works best for major remodeling projects and can handle eight pickup truck loads of waste. Photos of the units along with example projects can be found on their website.

If you’re unsure of what size dumpster you’ll need for a waste disposal project, you can contact consultants at the business who can steer you in the right direction based off of the information you provide.
