Matt Hovermale has been working at Swan Lake since 2012 and now serves as general manager and one of the owners along with Angela Bowman and Plymouth Speedway owner Ed Kennedy. Hovermale’s wife Kristen also works at Swan Lake as Director of Hotel Operations.
The general manager stated that when he and his wife took on leadership roles they felt it was important to keep the existing team in place to ensure that operations continued smoothly. He added that the ownership team and the employees are well situated to move the business into the future.
As a part of moving the business into the future, Hovermale revealed that certain “guest-centric” renovations have already been made and others are underway or planned.
He said one of the first major changes was updating the water treatment system. Currently, Dickies Restaurant is undergoing renovations and will come out the other side as The Swan Lake Chop House. The new restaurant will offer an elevated dining experience while Putter’s Bar and Grille will continue to be a more casual environment.
Up next will be a hotel renovation and other changes will be made in the coming years. Hovermale stated that, altogether, it will be about a three to five year timeframe for the projects they have planned.
Matt emphasized that while they do offer memberships,
Swan Lake is open to the public and a friendly environment for everyone. Business reps are constantly keeping the community informed about what’s happening at the Resort through their website and social media account.
