Man hospitalized after being struck unconscious by girlfriend’s ex
Lowe charged with burglary, home invasion and assault
Harry Leroy Lowe II, 29, of Indian Head has been charged with first- and second-degree burglary, first- and second-degree assault and home invasion after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend and sending the man to the hospital.
According to charging documents filed with the court, on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 7:12 a.m., the Charles County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an assault in progress at a residence on Jefferson Road in Waldorf.
At the scene, Deputy Johnson contacted the victim, who was found sitting in his work van. The victim had blood and swelling on the right side of his face, according to Johnson.
Both the front and rear passenger side tires of the van were allegedly slashed by Lowe, according to the victim, because the victim was in bed with his girlfriend.
Lowe’s ex-girlfriend, the victim’s girlfriend, lives at the residence and reported that Lowe has not lived at the residence for approximately two months.
The victim told officers he was sleeping in bed with his girlfriend when Lowe allegedly came in the room and struck him several times in the face, knocking him unconscious during the assault. The victim remembers waking up in the shower with blood all over the bathroom and his clothes, with his face hurting and swollen.
The victim’s girlfriend told officers Lowe was supposed to arrive at the residence later in the day to watch their son while she went to work but she did not know Lowe had to work that day as well. She stated that Lowe was not invited and did not announce his presence when he came into the residence. It was stated that the bedroom door was locked at the time of the of incident and she was not sure how Lowe gained entry into the bedroom.
The victim was transported by helicopter to Prince George’s Shock/ Trauma with possible broken jaw and cheek bone on the right side of his face, according to court documents.
Lowe was arrested by Johnson and taken to the Charles County Detention Center.
Bond for Lowe was set at $2,500. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13.
