on Wildmeadows Street with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to residential surveillance systems retrieved by detectives,
four people were standing in front of a garage on Wildmeadows Street and a group of people stood approximately 75 feet away in the middle of the street. Witnesses told the detectives the group of people standing in the street shot at the occupants of the residence and at least one person from in front of the residence
Empty shell casings were found in the street where the one group was standing, and casings were found in front of and inside the garage of 11243 Wildmeadows St.
The victim, Cole, was located about 250 feet away from the residence where the incident occurred, and detectives report it
appeared he was running away in the opposite direction when he was shot and killed.
A witness was interviewed and told detectives they witnessed Johnson allegedly shoot a handgun towards the people who were standing in front of the residence. After Johnson finished shooting, someone in front of the
residence shot back towards Johnson, shooting the victim in the back as he ran away.
Johnson was positively identified by a witness familiar with him and knew him prior to the shooting, according to court documents.
A warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued on Oct. 11. He was subsequently arrested on Oct. 19 and charged.
