Women In­spir­ing Women con­fer­ence to be held Oct. 27 in Solomons

Jack­lyn D. Miles, CEO of Miles and Ch­es­ley Con­sult­ing Ser­vices (MCCS) LLC, re­cently an­nounced the sec­ond an­nual “Women In­spir­ing Women” con­fer­ence will be held Sat­ur­day, Oct. 27, at the Hol­i­day Inn Solomons Con­fer­ence Cen­ter, ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease.

“This year’s con­fer­ence theme is ‘You Earned Your Value, Now Own It! It’s Time to Speak Up!’,” Miles said in a press re­lease. “I ask you, do you know your worth? Do you own your worth? Do you speak up at the right time? Is your voice heard? If not, I en­cour­age you to lis­ten to our speak­ers, to help you find your value, your worth and your voice.”

The event will fea­ture speak­ers, break­out ses­sions, thought-pro­vok­ing pan­els and the chance to meet at­ten­dees from all over the South­ern Mary­land and Wash­ing­ton, D.C., met­ro­pol­i­tan ar­eas. This year’s con­fer­ence was cre­ated with the ob­jec­tives to:

• Cul­ti­vate and in­spire women to seek their high­est level of per­sonal and pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment by pro­vid­ing par­tic­i­pants with knowl­edge­able in­for­ma­tion, per­spec­tives and strate­gies con­cern­ing var­i­ous di­men­sions of lead­er­ship de­vel­op­ment;

• Pro­vide women with dy­namic top­ics ad­dress­ing ma­jor is­sues that are crit­i­cal for women to­day to be­come cap­ti­vat­ing, ef­fi­cient and ef­fec­tive lead­ers and learn to value our worth; and

• En­joy, have fun and net­work with pro­fes­sional women (and men) within a unique fo­rum where you can share your pro­fes­sional ex­pe­ri­ences with the Con­fer­ence par­tic­i­pants; meet the MCCS staff; visit and min­gle with ven­dors and spon­sors; and learn lead­er­ship prac­tices, within an invit­ing en­vi­ron­ment.

The con­fer­ence’s key­note speaker will be Del. Edith Pat­ter­son (D-Charles). Pat­ter­son is a dis­tin­guished ed­u­ca­tor and civic leader cur­rently rep­re­sent­ing Charles County, Dis­trict 28, in the Mary­land House of Del­e­gates, and serves as the Charles County Del­e­ga­tion chair. She will be speak­ing on the topic “You Earned Your Value, Now Own It!” and the im­por­tance of go­ing out of your com­fort zone, the press re­lease states.

Oda Solms, pub­lisher of “South­ern Mary­land Wo­man” mag­a­zine, will be the mis­tress of cer­e­mony for the con­fer­ence.
