Re: Rideout health
Why are we so worried about a Rideout realignment? We need to finally have management that actually knows what it’s doing.
We cheer the hospital on while its improvements take years longer to complete than they should. We praise a board that overpaid former CEO Teresa Hamilton by millions while she ran the hospital into the ground. We excuse F grades in hospital reports and national publications that rate Rideout as one of the most dangerous hospitals for infection in the country.
My spouse worked as a registered nurse in that facility for five years and rated it one of the worst hospitals she worked for in her 20-year career. The only reason she stayed as long as she did was a five-minute commute. This even became too little of a perk for her to continue. She had problems with a supervisor who was harassing her, complained through proper channels and the hospital did nothing. She ended up taking a much, much higher paying job 50 miles away. The list of garbage that goes on at Rideout is endless. It has one of the worst reputations as a health care employer in the Sacramento region. Yes, please, get us another hospital group that can actually run a hospital and retain great nurses, doctors and staff.
Yes, please, get us a hospital group that pays better and actually cares about retaining good quality employees. Yes, please save this wreck of a hospital with its new building and old way of thinking. Please rescue us from the Rideout board of directors.
