9th annual Rabbit Run Motorcycle Ride set for Saturday
An Easter-themed motorcycle run this weekend will benefit a local nonprofit.
Sisters of Scota Womens Motorcycle Club is holding the 9th annual Rabbit Run Motorcycle Ride 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday starting at the Gold Eagle Market, 11269 Loma Rica Rd., Marysville, and riding to the Lake Frances Resort, 13919 Lake Frances Road, Dobbins.
The event’s proceeds benefit Environmental Alternatives Foster Family Agency, a Marysville organization that provides a variety of services to children and young adults.
Jenny “Banshee” Martin, with the club, said the event will help fund a camp for the children and, if the weather holds, an early Easter egg hunt at Lake Frances Resort.
“We’re making 100 easter baskets for the foster family kids,” Martin saud. “They will go to Environmental Alternatives Foster Family Agency and any overflow goes to other Environmental Alternatives offices in the region.”
She said previous Rabbit Run events have raised as much as $4,000.
Festivities at the rain-or-shine event include a bike blessing, pancake breakfast by Christian Motorcyclist Association, live music by the Swankmasters, ride-in bike show, raffles and lunch. A pin is available to the first 50 participants.
The cost is $20 per person and $30 for couples. For more information, email banshee_soswmc@hotmail.com or call 740-3258.
