Sutter bounced from top spot

The Northern Section Media Poll was released on Tuesday, and for the first time since the end of the 2015 regular season, Sutter High is no longer the topranked team in Division III.

The Huskies lost their season opener, 24-0, at North Coast Section power Cardinal Newman last Friday in Santa Rosa, and it was enough to drop Sutter down to No. 2 in this week’s rankings. The Huskies had been the unanimous No. 1 each week for the last two seasons.

Sutter still received five first-place votes, but was edged by just one point by new No. 1 West Valley,
