Four music styles to be featured at festival

The band has a contempora­ry gospel pop, blues and rock sound, according to the release.

“Machaira shares Christ through lyrics about life’s experience­s, struggles and triumphs for those who trust in him,” the release states.

The group released their sixth album, “Stepping Out of the Boat.”

The band Lifted is led by Jeff Poppinga, who has served as the worship leader for Adventure Church of Yuba City. His daughter, Kaylee Starr Poppinga, and his son, Luke Poppinga, will also perform alongside their father.

Kaylee Poppinga is a songwriter who is finishing her new CD and has recently finished touring in Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky and California. Luke Poppinga is finishing his debut EP, according to the press release.

John Waller, a Georgia native who recently moved to the area, will conclude the festival. He moved to Yuba-sutter to serve as worship leader at Hope Point Nazarene in Yuba City.

The festival will have a kid’s fun zone hosted by Millennium Family Entertainm­ent Center of Yuba City.

and new this year will be several local restaurant­s serving dishes, including Porky’s BBQ, Sunflower Cafe, Brock’s Ice Cream and Rosie’s Sno Biz. There will also be some churches serving food.

Everyone will receive a free ticket for a drawing. All prizes were donated by Crosspoint­e Christian Bookstore.

Attendees should remember to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during the festival.

The Band Together for Christ Music Festival will take place Sept. 22 at Faith Christian High School, 3105 Colusa Highway, Yuba City, and gates open at 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free to all attendees.

Curteman said the field next to the school can also be used for parking if the main parking lot is full.
