Wreaths to honor veterans’ service

-

a press release issued by Wreathes Across America. Local sponsor organizers, as well as Wreaths Across America, believe that a decline in sponsorship in the Yuba-sutter area is due to the recent Camp Fire.

“I totally understand ... Taking care of the evacuees is the most important,” Languell said. Due to the smoky conditions, the local Veteran’’s Day Parade was canceled this year so organizers such as Languell are excited to have the opportunity to honor these veterans again.

Local sponsor and ceremony organizers include the Early Risers Yuba City Kiwanis, the Live Oak Lions Club, American Legion Post 807, Beale Composite Squadron 28 Civil Air Patrol, Yuba City Rotary Club, Yuba-sutter Stand Down, Wheatland Cemetery District, Wheatland 4-H Club, Wheatland Lions Club, the Wheatland Post of the American Legion and the Well Armed Women of Yuba-sutter.

Other cemeteries in the area participating in Wreathes Across America: Greenwood Memorial Gardens and St. Patricks Cemetery in Grass Valley, Live Oak Cemetery District and Gridley-biggs Cemetery. Business hours: Monday-friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
