children also received the keys to their new home during the dedication ceremonies.

“My son is more excited than I am,” Lee said. “He really wants his own room.”

This will be the first time Lee’s son and daughter will have their own rooms.

“This is one of the best moments,” Lee said. “We have been waiting for this for a long time.”

Before handing out the keys to each family, Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors Chairman Chong Yang discussed impact that the Habitat for Humanity Faith Build Program has on not only the families that move into these houses but the community as a whole.

“These homes really mean a community coming together and building homes for those living in sub-standard housing,” Yang said.

These homes were built through contributions and volunteers from five area churches, and a grant made possible by Thrivent Financial. Numerous volunteers dedicated their time and hard work to help build these homes as well.

Habitat for Humanity Yuba-sutter CEO Joseph Hale said this is the largest number of houses that have been included in one dedication ceremony in the Yuba-sutter area.

More than 70 people came out to participate in the dedication ceremony. In addition to the key exchange, festivities included live music, speakers and a barbecue lunch.
