spellers from the fourth, fifth and sixth grade classrooms will compete to see what two students will represent Tierra Buena at the Sutter County Spelling Bee coming soon.

For the last several weeks we have had an interim Assistant Principal in the familiar face of Davinder Deol. Because of other obligation­s, Feb. 15 will be her last day on campus. We will miss her.

The results of the Ray Roberts Tournament held on Feb. 1-2 in Gridley are in. Both the Tierra Buena seventh and eighth grade teams placed second. Alltournam­ent players were Abram Mccauly from the eighth grade and seventh grader Rhion Jimenez.

The boys basketball season continues with two away dates this week. On Tuesday, Feb. 12 we will visit Britan School and Thursday we will be at Faith Christian School.

This Friday the kindergart­en classes of Jessica Sanchez and Camille Bailey will take a field trip to the Gateway Science Museum at California State University, Chico.

Also on Friday, TRCS will have it’s School Spelling Bee, from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades classes. The winners will represent Twin Rivers in the Sutter County Spelling Bee later this spring.

Remember that Monday, Feb. 11, is a regular school day for Twin Rivers.

The students at Winship Community School have finished up league play in basketball and will start playoffs this week.

Our basketball team consists of Alex Guzman, Johnathan Garcia, Chris Gutierrez, Jesus Gutierrez, Wyatt Nelson, Reyes Madrigal, Lucas Ramirez, Eddie Olalde, and Diego Abundiz. Students will start wrestling and co-ed soccer in the next couple of weeks.

A reminder that Winship Community School will celebrate its 155 year anniversar­y with festivitie­s on May 18. If you are interested in helping plan the event, please call 301-8101.
