FELONY ARRESTS Michael L. Moore, 21, of Oroville, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 8:51 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 800 block of Colusa Highway on suspicion of driving a car without consent. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Micah J. Mitchell, 38, homeless, Yuba City, was arrested by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 9 in the first block of Second Street on suspicion of burglary. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

David Y. Her, 38, of the 1400 block of Lisa Way, Marysville, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 4:25 a.m. Feb. 8 at Arboga Road on suspicion of impersonat­ion. He was booked into Yuba County Jail.

DUI ARRESTS Matthew W. Hommerbock­er, 37, of the 6000 block of Gossett Way, Marysville, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 2:05 a.m. Feb. 9 at Bridge and Shasta streets. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Daniel Romero Sr., 40, of the 2100 block of Lindenmeir Drive, Olivehurst, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 12:56 a.m. Feb. 10 in Plumas Lake. He was booked into Yuba County Jail.

Another challenge the area is faced with is filling available jobs. The area currently cannot meet the needs of employers in filling skilled positions, she said.

YSEDC gathered the informatio­n from several different areas, including the state’s Employment Developmen­t Department, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau, among others.

The area’s population is projected to increase along with job growth. Sutter County’s total population is projected to reach 106,317 residents by 2025 (an increase of 12 percent compared to Census 2010 figures), while Yuba County’s is projected to reach 88,285 residents by 2025 (an increase of 21 percent compared to the 2010 Census), according to the 2018 Comprehens­ive Economic Developmen­t Strategy prepared by the YSEDC.
