“I am fortunate to have an incredible family, school staff who are family and school families who are our partners, as this award would not be possible without their excellence and dedication to our team,” she said.

This wasn’t the first time Live Oak Middle School Principal Parm Virk was recognized as a top administrator – the last time being in 2005 – but it was just as sweet.

“It’s a humbling experience, and I credit our

entire school staff for the success that they bring students each day, and fostering an environment in which children can thrive in,” Virk said. “I am fortunate to be a part of what they do daily.”

For Virk, a great administrator is someone who creates a shared vision and helps build a sense of community that helps unlock the potential of others; someone who is willing to take risks on the path of continuous improvement for the greater good.
