A rundown of services, Easter egg hunts

It’s time to dust off the Easter baskets and go on the hunt. Several Yuba-sutter Easter egg hunts and church services are planned for Easter weekend, offering families opportunit­ies to get the children out for some fun.

Today, April 20

– The Live Oak Lions Club is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt, 11 a.m., Live Oak High School, 2351 Pennington Road, Live Oak for children up to third grade.

– The grounds of Yuba City’s Riverbend Elementary School will be filled with eggs for Adventure Church’s Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m.-noon, Riverbend Elementary School, 301 Stewart Road, Yuba City.

“The event is for everyone and it’s free for babies through sixth-graders,” according to an announceme­nt online. “Each age group will be running at different times, so no worrying about your kids going at the same time.”

There will be free hot dogs, lemonade, bounce houses, games, prizes,

crafts and a giveaway, which includes an ipad.

– Yuba Sutter Mall will host an annual Easter Festival at the Sears parking lot with thousands of eggs, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Yuba Sutter Mall, 1215 Colusa Ave., Yuba City. The free Easter egg hunt is for children up to 10 years old and there will be a sensory friendly egg hunt for special needs children.

– A candy-free egg hunt is planned for Saturday at Playzeum Yuba Sutter in Yuba City. The event is free with purchase of admission to Playzeum, 11:30 a.m., Playzeum Yuba Sutter, 1980 S. Walton Ave., Yuba City.

– The Arbuckle Golf Club, 5918 Hillgate Road, Arbuckle, is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. The hunt is broken down into three age groups; preschool and under, kindergart­en through second grade, and third and forth grades. Refreshmen­ts will be served after the hunt.

– The Williams Community Church’s Community Easter egg hunt at Valley Vista Park, Greenwing Drive, Williams, from 10 a.m.11 a.m. The hunt is open to all children up to the age of 10 and will be broken into age groups. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

– The Assembly of God Church, 1747 State Route 20, Colusa, is hosting the second annual Community Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Games, fire trucks, police cars, pony rides and a petting zoo will be a part of the event. Lunch and candy will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

– The Colusa Lions Club annual Easter egg hunt at the Colusa County Fairground­s, 1303 10th St., Colusa at 9 a.m.. Children in third grade and under are invited. More than 2,400 real eggs will be hidden, including eight golden eggs (two in each age-based area). Those who find a golden egg will win an Easter basket.

Sunday, April 21

– 99th annual Sunrise Service, Sutter Buttes Cross, Acacia and Pass roads, gates open at 5 a.m., service at 6:21 a.m. Radio broadcast at 93.3 FM. Bring a lawn chair and blanket and enjoy the sunrise. Rain will cancel the event.

– Easter at Citywalk will have an Easter Sunday event, 9 a.m., River Valley High School, 801 El Margarita Road, Yuba City.

“Everyone is welcome, so grab a friend and come check it out at 9 a.m. or 10:45 a.m.,” according to an announceme­nt online. “City Kids will be available for both services for infants through fifth-grade students. There is so much fun planned for them including an egg hunt, games, music and face painting.”

– Easter service at Bible Baptist Church, 2787 N. Beale Road, Marysville 10:30 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt that will follow the service.

– The First Presbyteri­an Church of Colusa Sunrise Service 6:30 a.m., Veteran’s Memorial Park, 10th and Market streets, Colusa.

– Bible Baptist Church, 2787 N. Beale Road, Marysville is hosting a free Easter Egg hunt at 3 p.m. with free bus rides to the event.
