A historic day for 169-years-old Marysville is today

There’s a full slate of activities at today’s Marysville Historic Faire.

Hosted by the group Focus on Marysville, there are talking tours of 169-year-old Marysville, vendors, gun fight reenactmen­ts, music, and book readings, and much more. Here’s a schedule: – Talking Tours. Various tours will be available. Each tour requires a signup and a donation of $5 is suggested. The tour signup table will be at First and C Streets from 11 a.m.2 p.m., where guests will sign a waiver and obtain a wristband.

– Costume Contest: Dress up like an oldtime Marysville resident and show off at 4 p.m. at the main stage on Third and C St.

– Pony rides and living history reenactmen­ts will happen at Fourth and D St, from 1-5 p.m.

– Old Western Legends: the reenactmen­t will happen at Third and D streets at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

– Vendors and exhibits will be available from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Fourth St. between C and D streets.

– Museums: Admission into museums are free. Mary Aaron Memorial Museum will be open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 7th and D St. Chinese Museum of Northern California will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at First and C St.

– Book Readings: Authors of books that tell parts of the local history will be available at the Packard Library at Fourth and C St. from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. They will read and discuss the books they present.

– “The Hammonton Boys” movie showings: This is the story of what it was like to live in a small mining town; created by Doug Criddle, it will be shown at the Old Historic Packard Library located at 301 Fourth St. at noon and 3 p.m. Criddle will be on hand for questions. His C.D. will also be available to purchase for $10.

– Entertainm­ent: Music and performanc­es will happen on the main stage at Third and D St. History with the Aztec Dancers will happen at 2:30 p.m. Plunk and Pink will happen 3 p.m. OCD will perform from noon-2 p.m. Davey London will be inside The Brick Cafe from noon-5 p.m.

– Childrens Playzeum: A play area for children will be available at Fourth and C and D streets.
