“National Geographic has been out here for a show and Southwest: The Magazine did an article last year, too,” she said. “I get a lot more phone calls now and we’re branching out doing more corporate events and larger events.”

She said they’ve had visitors from Hawaii and Florida and would like to create an outdoor arena, similar to an equestrian arena, where she and the other falconers can continue their craft during inclement weather.

Birtha said the plan is to host more career fairs next month. They also plan on organizing vendor fairs to meet local sellers, looking for merchandise, agricultural products and other items produced in the area.
