New businesses set to open in Yuba City

Olive Garden, Huckleberr­y’s and Dutch Bros among new establishm­ents

Several highly-anticipate­d businesses are in the final stages before opening their doors in Yuba City.

The biggest franchise expected to open in the coming weeks is Olive Garden. The restaurant replaced the former Hometown Buffet building in front of Sam’s Club along Highway 20. Two others that are in the final phases and likely to open around the same time include Dutch Bros on Highway 20 near the 10th Street Bridge and a Round Table Clubhouse in the Raley’s shopping center.

“They are all in the final inspection stage of the building permit process,” said Vicrim Chima, planning manager for Yuba City. “Opening dates are imminent.”

Another business that hasn’t been reported but is in the final

stages before opening is Huckleberr­y’s, which is a breakfast and lunch restaurant that is taking over the former Perko’s Café building. Chima said the new business has made some interior and exterior modificati­ons and is in the process of getting new signage up.

“Opening for Huckleberr­y’s should also be imminent, as we are in the final stages of the building permits,” he said.

Matthew S. Pennington, 25, homeless was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 9:28 a.m. Aug. 29 on Bridge Street. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Nicholas S. Condrey, 34, of the 400 block of Township Road, Yuba City, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 8:25 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 1100 block of Harter Parkway. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Sierra L. Siller, 26, of the 700 block of Ida Court, Yuba City, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 1 a.m. Aug. 29 on Highway 20. She was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Aunkar Singh, 71, of the 2600 block of Pear Street, Live Oak, was arrested by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office at 9:02 p.m. Aug. 28 on P Street. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

Jaime N. Williams, 31, of the 800 block of Clark Avenue, Yuba City, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 in the 800 block of Colusa Avenue. She was booked into Sutter County Jail.
