DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS: Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, frightening images and some language.

What it’s about: This sequel to 2016’s DOCTOR STRANGE sees the snarky surgeon superhero face off with the Scarlet Witch across the multiverse.

The kid attractor factor: Kids who are superhero and MCU fans will be happy for another installment in the universe. The effects-heavy action adventure and young character America Chavez might also draw young audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: The grass isn’t always greener in the other ‘verse. Be present and stay grateful.

Violence: Some action adventure violence, and some spooky, supernatural, occult-inspired moments: zombies and witches and monsters, oh my!

Language: Mild, infrequent strong language.

Sex: None Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: A fun, witchy, spin into the multiverse. OK for older kids and teens but too scary and violent for little kids.

HAPPENING: Rated R for disturbing material/images, sexual content and graphic nudity.

What it’s about: A college student in 1960s France seeks an illegal abortion.

The kid attractor factor: None, this is an adult drama about serious issues.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Always choose your own life. Violence: Some disturbing images and depictions of abortion attempts and successful abortions. Some bloody and other challenging imagery.

Language: None

Sex: Many references to sex, a graphic sex scene with nudity, many images of graphic nudity throughout.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: This is a serious drama about abortion that depicts it in all of its challenges when rendered illegal and taboo in society. While this is not appropriate for kids, it may be a good film for mature teens to see and discuss with parents or guardians.
