Betty Jean (Hamon) Thompson of Yuba City, CA, lived 95 wonderful years before her passing on April 26, 2022. A native of Marysville, she always thought of Yuba-sutter as home.

Betty lived with a vibrant spirit and a grateful heart. She was a bright light to many, and a glowing example of kindness and generosity. She loved her family. Betty will be deeply treasured and fondly remembered by all those who knew her.

Donna grew up in Gridley and Wheatland. She settled in Marysville after she married. She was loving, funny, and hardworkin­g. God and her children were her highest priority, and when her grandsons were born they took center stage in her life. She enjoyed nature, always feeling the need to care for and protect it.

Donna is survived by her children, Kiersten of Monterey, CA, and Nicholas of Loma Rica, CA; as well as her grandchild­ren, Jordan of Stanford, CA, and Logan of Loma Rica, CA.

Services were held with an attendance of 130.

George Edward Healy Jr. passed away on April 26, 2022 in Yuba City, CA. He was born on May 26, 1942 in the Bronx, New York City.

Profession­ally, George served as Vice President in the Domestic and Internatio­nal divisions of the Bank of America Auditing Department. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and a devout family man.

George is survived by his wife Rose, son Craig, daughter Shana (Nygard), sister Patty and eight grandchild­ren.

A rosary at 1:30 pm and a mass at 2 pm will be held in his honor on May 10, 2022 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City, CA.

July 12, 1935April 28, 2022 We are heartbroke­n to announce the death of our mother, Maria Guadalupe Ortiz. She passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family, she will be dearly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

She was born July 12, 1935, in Mexico to Rosalva Guzman and Jose Maria Calatayud. She was a loving wife, mother of 4, grandmothe­r of 16 grandchild­ren, and great-grandmothe­r to 17 great-grandchild­ren.

She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Carroll) Peiffer of Yuba City; sons, Carlos (Peri) Ortiz of Yuba City, Elias Ortiz of Williams, and Gregorio Ortiz of Yuba City; brothers, Jose Maria Calatayud and Jorge Calatayud both of Mexico; and her sister, Leticia Echeverria of Dixon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Maria Ortiz, and her loving grandson, Zachary Ortiz.

Viewing will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4-7, with Rosary at 6 pm.

Services will be on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10 am at Saint Isidore Catholic Church, interment will follow at Sutter Cemetery.

Ollis Jasper "Jay" Comstock passed away at home on April 26, 2022, one day after his 84th birthday, with his family by his side.

Jay was born April 25, 1938, in Summers, Arkansas, to Tony and Leona Comstock. He graduated from Marysville High School and joined the Navy.

After his service in the military, he went to work in the constructi­on industry then he joined the Marysville Joint Unified School District building maintenanc­e department in 1969, and retired from there after 32 years.

He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #3, the Lions Club, L.O.C.A., Little League, and Boy Scouts. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, golfing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Comstock and Ronald Comstock; and one sister, Euvonna Foster.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mar- lene Comstock; and four children, Tony Comstock, Larry Comstock, Jimmy Comstock, and Nathan Comstock; 15 grandchild­ren; 30 great-grandchild­ren; 5 great-great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jay's family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at 10 am at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, and a Celebratio­n of Life immediatel­y following at the American Legion Hall on Feather River Blvd., in Linda, CA.

Richard Huston, 92, of Yuba City, passed away peacefully in his home on May 4, 2022. Richard was born May 8, 1929 in Minneapoli­s, Minnesota.

In 1950, Richard married his beloved wife, Nancy Doering in Yuba City, and together they raised three daughters. Richard spent 60 years farming in Sutter Basin and Sutter County. Richard and Nancy enjoyed many years traveling and spent 20 years living the "bi-coastal" life he loved in Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nancy, his daughters, Annette (Val) Olenski, Dorothee (Joe) Guido and Colleen (David) Kust. Grandchild­ren, Justin (Brooke) Olenski, Elizabeth (Eddie) Kust, Michael (Megan) Kust, Natalie Price and 7 great-grandchild­ren.

A memorial service for Richard will be at First Lutheran Church in Yuba City, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
