‘Super Puppies A Wellness Adventure’ set to premiere at the Sutter Theater Center on Jan. 20
The Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts (MCAA) will be presenting a live rendition of “The Super Puppies A Wellness Adventure,” adapted from a children’s book series authored by Tonya Flores.
Flores is a longtime
Yuba City resident and an energetic mother of two. Her children’s book series centers around cute puppy characters, Zuko and Allie Puff, who deal with many timely subjects and social issues.
“The Super Puppies A Wellness Adventure’’ is a play that was adapted from Flores’ books by MCAA students as part of a drama class assignment. The original adaptation was done last year and toured elementary schools within the Marysville Joint Unified School District this past spring. Current intermediate drama students at MCAA have now updated the script and will be performing it on Jan. 20 at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts in Yuba City.
This event, in collaboration with Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture, will begin at 10:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. Guests may register for free at yubasutterarts.org with the first 20 registrants receiving a free signed copy of “Zuko and Allie
Puff and The Magical Meteorite,” courtesy of the Sutter County Children and Families Commission. These books are generally geared for those between the ages of 3 and 10.
In addition to this, families can enjoy a special “stretch and groove” segment with exercises, tasty treats, and a demo provided by Yubasutter Blue Zones.
