Gary Charles Mallett was born on March 29, 1943, in Yuba City CA, to parents, Beri and Marie Mallett. He died January 14, 2024, in Hermiston, OR, at the age of 80 years.

Gary grew up in Yuba City, CA, and graduated from Yuba City Union High School in 1961. After graduating he went on to work for Crum Meat Company in Mcarthur, CA, where his passion for the meat industry started.

He then worked for Del-pero-mondon Meat Company in Marysville, CA, while living in Yuba City, CA, he was also a volunteer fire fighter. Later he expanded his meat processing career by purchasing a small meat plant in Stanfield, OR, in 1977, (Huston Meat Co.) and moved his family to pursue his passion.

In Stanfield he continued his volunteer firefighti­ng as a training agent.

In 1985 he went into partnershi­p with Eric Clow, operating Eastern Oregon Mobile Slaughter, where he built an enormous customer base and great relationsh­ip with the community that he cherished.

Gary spent a lot of his time working (of course) and was quite the avid golfer. After almost 50 years of cutting meat, he retired to pursue one of his fabvorite hobbies, camping.

He was a camp host for several years in northern California, before FINALLY retiring (again) and moving back to Hermiston, OR.

Gary was a member of the Elks, Eagles and Moose Lodges.

Gary is survived by his beloved dog, Gidget; his sister, Virginia of Tacoma WA, sister, Linda of Boerne, TX,; brother, Kenny of Yuba City CA; and sister, Velda (John) of Hermiston OR; daughters, Annette (Ed) of Hermiston, OR, Debbie (Frank) of Fossil, OR; grandchild­ren Jacob, Jamie (Bill), James, Michael (Codi), Christophe­r (Falica), Daniel (Krysten), Jannette (Rich), Trevor (Tiffani), Blake, Alexis, and Casee; great -grandchild­ern Charlie, Dusty, Twila, Hunter, Wyatt, Rhett, Hanna, River and Koda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Christophe­r; brother, Garland; and wife, Jackie.

Gustavo Moreno Arredondo, 89, passed away on April 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, strength, and profound love for his family.

Born in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Rafael Moreno and Magdalena Arredondo; Gustavo's journey of life led him to California in 1950, where he worked as an agricultur­al contractor until he and his family were offered residency in the state in 1962.

The family resided in Gridley, CA, until they relocated to Live Oak, CA, where they made their home for 56 years.

Gustavo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sanjuana Moreno, with whom he shared over 67 years of cherished memories.

He is survived by his loving children, Rafael (Maria), Blanca (Arturo), Francisco (Juana), Josefina (Jose), Reyna (Paul), Rosaura (Timothy), Gustavo, and David (Tiya).

His legacy lives on through his 22 grandchild­ren; 34 greatgrand­children; and 2 great-great-grandchild­ren; each a testament to the depth of his love and the richness of his family's bond.

Gustavo was known for his unwavering work ethic. During his early years in California he was a skillful tree grafter until he transition­ed to a warehouse lead until retirement. With this position he oversaw 35 years of rice harvests in Gridley, CA.

His thriving gardens and overall green thumb were renowned among all who knew him. He approached every task with determinat­ion and passion, leaving a lasting impression on those around him.

A viewing in honor of Gustavo will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 5pm, followed with a Rosary at 6 pm, both the viewing and rosary will be held at the Live Oak Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Funeral church services will also be held to celebrate Gustavo's life at Live Oak's Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11 am. Following the mass, Gustavo will be accompanie­d to his final resting place alongside his beloved wife, Sanjuana at the Live Oak Cemetery.

Kenneth Frank Kloncz, 69, of Loma Rica, CA, passed away on March 10, 2024.

Ken was an outgoing, energetic, and positive person who loved his family dearly.

He was known in the Northern California area for his skills as an auto parts broker, forming many lasting friendship­s through his career.

Ken's love for his family extended to spending time with his grandkids, along with his passion for golf and sports.

A memorial service will be held on April 20, 2024, at 1 PM at 11646 Hill Road, Loma Rica, CA 95901.

Rest in peace, Ken.
