Samsung Wireless Fast Charging Stand

WHEN IT COMES

to smartphones, I swear by the wireless Qi connection standard. Having been introduced to it with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and continuing to use it with the S9 Plus, without a shadow of a doubt, I couldn’t live without it now.

I litter a plethora of these bad boys all over the house and office. I have a flat one on my desk at home, an angled one at work, another angled one by my bedside table, and even one downstairs next to the TV for when I’m binging on TV series with my future wife.

The thing is, they’re so ridiculously convenient—there’s no chance of damaging the port, a reduced chance of damaging the cable, and keeping my phone charged, quickly and easily, is an absolute dream. I get up, go to work, I’m on 100 percent charge. Leave the office, still on 100 percent. Jump in the car, 100 percent. You get the picture. Battery life doesn’t affect me. On top of that, because it all functions off the Qi wireless standard, they’re crosscompatible, too. From iPhones to LG to Samsung—take your pick.

There are only two downsides I can think of, the first being the price. As standard, these come in at $70, although more often they’re $30–$50 when on sale. The second is the fan. As the quick chargers generate a bigger magnetic sphere, they create more heat, and require a tiny fan to dissipate it, which can be annoying if you’re a light sleeper. $54,
