Corsair Hydro H100i Pro

-

I BUILT MY POP A RIG out of old parts we had lying around the office a few months back. It’s a pretty slick build: an Intel Core i7-5820K, 32GB of Crucial Ballistix memory, an EVGA X99 microATX mobo, a GTX 1080, and a few budget SSDs to keep him chugging along nicely. He doesn’t do much on it nowadays—just the occasional game of WorldofWarships, and I hear his future stepson is obsessed with playing

Fortnite on it (no surprises there, then). Unfortunately, the cooler recently decided it’d had enough of the whole pumping water around business, and decided to kick itself to death. So, here we are, in need of a new cooler.

This wouldn’t be a problem if the old fella lived just down the road, but as he’s a four-hour drive away from me, I need something easy to fit on the fly, with little fuss, that he can manage. The current cooler is based off Asetek’s AIO design, so swapping it out for something similar shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.

So, easy Christmas present from me, then, this year! I went and got him arguably the most recognizable and reliable AIO on the market: Corsair’s Hydro H100i Pro. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re after something solid, with good performance, and an impeccable warranty, you can’t go wrong with it. It’ll also add more RGB to his rig, which will entertain me no end, given he’s a 51-year-old man with no time for that nonsense. Or so he tells me. – ZS $110, www.corsair.com
