A Hometown Christmas

The Southwest City Arts Center proudly presents “A Hometown Christmas” holiday variety show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10, in the Arts Center, 207 S. Broadway. This is the grand reopening of the Arts Center consisting of two performanc­es.

Friday night’s evening will include the award-winning McDonald County High School Jazz Band and the drama department’s Mustang Players. In addition, area youth will perform a favorite Mexican Christmas tradition, “La Pastorela,” a pastoral drama of the Nativity. Charity Keith and Amy Wallain will offer piano carols, and Julie Gore Story will complete the evening with her lovely voice.

On Saturday evening, Christmas songs will be performed by the McDonald County Children’s Choir, a faith-based choir for boys and girls in second through sixth grades. Also, the Mustang Players will entertain with “The Hunt for Christmas Gifts,” Southwest City youth will perform “La Pastorela,” and Charity Keith, Amy Wallain and Julie Gore Story will add their musical talents.

Tickets can be purchased at Corner Stone Bank and Anne Croxdale Memorial Library. Adult tickets are $7. Children’s tickets (ages 3-12) are $3. Children under 3 are free. Seating is limited, so early purchase of tickets is recommende­d. All proceeds will benefit the programs and restoratio­n of the Arts Center.
