Cuma Kay Lett

-

Dec. 5, 1942 Dec. 29, 2016 Cuma Kay Lett, 74, Goodman, lost her battle with cancer in the early afternoon of Dec. 29, 2016. She fought long and hard, but after eight years God took her home. Though her many friends and family will miss the bright smiles and laughter, she is happy, pain free and at peace.

She worked as a teachers’ aide and at Federal Express before finishing her career at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. She was always upbeat and open to challenges and she carried those traits, along with grace, to her fight with this horrible disease. Every day was a challenge these past few years, and she faced them with steadfast determination without complaint. A kinder soul you could not meet. Always a smile, always a time for a hug.

She is preceded in everlasting life by her father, Chester Acton Turner; mother, Edna Eryl Saunders; stepfather, Harry C. Saunders; and three brothers, Chester Allen Saunders, Gary Rue Saunders and Robert Warren Turner.

She leaves behind her husband, Gene Lett; children, Michael Daniels and wife Nancy, and Shawna Morton and husband Mike; nine grandchildren, Madison Morton, Beau Howell, Joe Howell, Katy Howell, Jessica Hughes, Kendal Coffey, Michah Cramer, Joshua Thompson and Sarah Ring; three stepchildren, Mike Lett and wife Vicki, Diane Campbell and husband Larry, and Carolann Thompson and companion John Mapp; brother, Harry Edward Saunders and wife Mona; sister, Renee Hersh and husband Robert; several nieces and nephews; and countless wonderful friends, all who loved her dearly.

The family received friends Friday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Mo. The Rev. Gary Balfour officiated.

Cremains will be interred at a later date at Price Cemetery at May Community.
