$2 Float Trip Offered

The Young Outdoorsme­n United organizati­on is hosting a familyorie­nted float trip on Elk River, on Sunday June 11. The excursion departs 10 a.m. from Lazy Days Campground, 1351 H Highway, approximat­ely half a mile west of Interstate 49 in Pineville, and concludes downstream at the railroad bridge that crosses Elk River.

The Young Outdoorsme­n United organizati­on is hosting a family-oriented float trip on Elk River, on Sunday June 11. The excursion departs 10 a.m. from Lazy Days Campground, 1351 H Highway, approximat­ely half a mile west of Interstate 49 in Pineville, and concludes downstream at the railroad bridge that crosses Elk River.

The float trip is $2 per person and includes life jacket rental, and return shuttle service back to Lazy Days Campground. There is an age limitation of age 5 and older to attend.

A no alcohol policy will be strictly enforced, and all participan­ts shall remain with the organizati­on’s group. All floaters are responsibl­e for their own snacks and drinks. The trip will last approximat­ely five hours including scheduled stops for swimming and snack breaks. Rafts and canoes will be used, no kayaks will be available. Due to space availabili­ty, some families may have to share a raft.

There is a participat­ion limit for the event, and will be determined on a first-come first-serve basis. Those floating will receive the guidelines, suggestion­s, and rules packet.

Young Outdoorsme­n United is based in McDonald County and provides youth and families the opportunit­y to hunt, fish and shoot, through outdoor activities every month of the year.
