Webb City Keeps Lady Mus­tangs Vol­ley­ball Win­less

Webb City beat the McDon­ald County High School vol­ley­ball team in straight sets on Sept. 6 at MCHS to keep the Lady Mus­tangs win­less early in the 2018 sea­son.

The Lady Mus­tangs fell to 0-4 for the sea­son.

The Lady Car­di­nals won the first game 25-15 be­fore claim­ing a 25-18 win in the sec­ond to win the match.

The McDon­ald County ju­nior var­sity fell in three sets. The Lady Mus­tangs won the first game 25-21 be­fore Webb City came back to take the fi­nal two sets 25-9 and 25-5.

Webb City made it a clean sweep of the night with a 25-18, 13-25, 17-15 win in the fresh­man match.

McDon­ald County hosts Carl Junc­tion on Sept. 13 in its next match. Matches be­gin at 5 p.m. with the fresh­man con­test.

Pea Ridge

The Pea Ridge Black­hawks swept all three of the matches at McDon­ald County on Sept. 10, in­clud­ing

win­ning the var­sity match in three straight games.

Pea Ridge took the first game 25-17, over­com­ing a 12-11 deficit af­ter McDon­ald County scored four con­sec­u­tive points. The Lady Black­hawks led 20-17 be­fore scor­ing the fi­nal five points of the game.

Pea Ridge dom­i­nated the sec­ond game for a 25-7 win and then won the match with a 25-13 win in the third game.

McDon­ald County won the first game of both the fresh­man and ju­nior var­sity matches, but Pea Ridge ral­lied for wins in both.

Pea Ridge won the ju­nior var­sity con­test 23-25, 25-19, 15-9 and claimed a 23-25, 25-11, 15-6 de­ci­sion in the fresh­man match.

McDon­ald County falls to 0-5 for the sea­son head­ing into its Sept. 13 match against Carl Junc­tion at MCHS. Matches be­gin at 5 p.m.
