MCHS Soc­cer Team Loses In Penalty Kicks

For the sec­ond straight match, the McDon­ald County High School soc­cer team lost in penalty kicks af­ter reg­u­la­tion time ended in a tie.

Carl Junc­tion outscored the Mus­tangs, 4-2, in penalty kicks to beat the Mus­tangs

on Sept. 6 at MCHS. Reg­u­la­tion play ended in a 1-1 tie. The score stayed 1-1 af­ter two 10-minute over­time pe­ri­ods be­fore Carl Junc­tion claimed the win with its ad­van­tage in penalty kicks.

Carl Junc­tion scored first for a 1-0 lead be­fore McDon­ald County se­nior Fran­cisco Jasso tied the game at 1-1 en­ter­ing half­time.

The loss drops McDon­ald County to 1-2-1 en­ter­ing its Sept. 13 match at Monett. Game time is at 4:30 p.m.
