SWC Senior Center Plans Activities
Southwest City Senior Center will host a number of seasonal events during the month of October.
Beginning at 9:45 a.m. and wrapping up at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26, Crochet with Robin will be held. Limited supplies of yarn will be available. Crocheters are asked to bring their own hooks.
From 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, there will be an annual spaghetti dinner with a dessert auction and live music by local musician John Spurling. Funds raised will be used to make continued improvements at the Senior Center. Those interested in making a dessert for the auction are welcome to do so.
The McDonald County Health Department will be on site from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, to administer flu shots. Patients will need to bring an insurance card. The cost to receive a vaccine without insurance is $25.
A costume contest will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Students from the pre-K classes will parade the center, in costume, and visitors will hand out candy.
