Vol­ley­ball Team Slips To 0-8

Af­ter win­ning the first set, Col­lege Heights Chris­tian Academy had to rally in the sec­ond to beat the McDonald County Lady Mus­tangs vol­ley­ball team, 25-14, 25-20, on Sept. 20 at MCHS.

McDonald County jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the sec­ond set be­fore Col­lege Heights scored four straight points to cut the mar­gin to 9-8.

The Lady Mus­tangs scored three of the next five points to lead 12-10, but the Lady Cougars scored three points in a row to take a 13-12 lead.

The teams were then tied at 13-13, 14-14 and 15-15 be­fore Col­lege Heights jumped ahead 19-15.

McDonald County closed to 22-20, but Col­lege Heights scored the fi­nal three points of the set to win the match.

The Lady Cougars dom­i­nated the first set, break­ing from a 5-5 tie with five con­sec­u­tive points for a 10-5 lead. The Lady Mus­tangs could get no closer than 17-10 the rest of the way.

McDonald County ju­nior var­sity ral­lied by win­ning the last two sets to claim a 23-25, 25-23, 15-10 win in their match.

McDonald County, 0-8 on the sea­son, was at Monett on Sept. 25 be­fore trav­el­ing to La­mar on Sept. 27.
