Football Teams Split Games

The McDonald County junior high football teams split games with Nevada on Oct. 11 at MCHS.

McDonald County claimed a 44-12 win in the seventhgrade game. Sam Barton scored three touchdowns — a 36-yard run, a 25-yard run and a 26-yard pass reception from Destyn Dowd.

Dowd added a 51-yard touchdown run and two conversion runs, while Jordan Scholz had a 64-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion.

Nevada defeated the McDonald County eighth grade, 38-22.

Cross Dowd had two touchdown passes — a 24 yarder to Hunter Harris and a 36 yarder to Dalton McClain. Dowd also hit Weston Gordon for one conversion with Gordon getting a second conversion on a run.

Robert Beltran scored the Mustangs’ other touchdown on a two-yard run.
