Commission Minutes
Sept. 24
Commissioners met with Tim Roark of Beimdiek Insurance regarding the county’s search for a health insurance broker.
Sept. 26
Commissioners again met with Tim Roark of Beimdiek Insurance to discuss broker services.
Jennifer Wilson met with the Commission to discuss Blackfoot Hollow Road, west of Anderson.
The Commission discussed the courthouse doors. Due to safety and security factors the Commission decided to take emergency measures to replace the entrance doors at the courthouse.
Commissioners further discussed the interviews and qualifications of the health insurance brokers they had met. After a long discussion, Commissioner David Holloway made a motion to hire Connell Insurance as the county’s broker. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.
The Commission talked about purchasing real estate located at 502 Main St. in Pineville for the purpose of future expansion of county offices. Commissioner Holloway made a motion to purchase the real estate. The motion passed unanimously. A check was issued to 633, LLC in the amount of $10,000 as earnest money.
Commissioners signed and approved accounts payable in the amount of $392,552.12.
Oct. 1
The Commission met with the McDonald County Sheriff’s Department and the Juvenile Office to discuss policies and procedures between the two offices. In attendance from the Sheriff’s Office were Sheriff Mike Hall, Undersheriff Chris Allison and Lt. Brandon Barrett. In attendance from the Juvenile Office were Candy Bowman and Marty Yust. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Maleia Chaney and 159th District State Representative Bill Lant were also in attendance.
Oct. 3
Commissioners considered actions to be taken regarding Honey Acres Road, west of Ginger Blue. The road is being partially blocked by vehicles being left in the roadway.
The Commission replaced the security lock on the Newton-McDonald County Landfill gate.
Oct. 10
Commissioners signed and approved accounts payable in the amount of $69,969.43.
Oct. 17
The Commission attended a Regional Commissioners Meeting in Cassville.
Commissioners signed and approved accounts payable in the amount of $103,912.46.
Oct. 24
Casey Chastain of Connell Insurance met with the Commission regarding medical insurance for county employees. Chastain informed Commissioners more information was needed but an early to mid-November enrollment is still feasible.
Oct. 29
The Commission checked the condition of Spring Hill Road, east of Anderson.
Presiding Commissioner Keith Lindquist attended a meeting in Neosho regarding the Newton-McDonald County Landfill. The topic of discussion was how to bring the landfill up to standards for the Department of Natural Resources. Others in attendance from McDonald County were Gregg Sweeten, Bill Lant and Paige Behm.
Commissioners signed and approved accounts payable in the amount of $363,679.74.
Nov. 1
The Commission met at Waco Title Company to close on the property located at 502 Main Street in Pineville. This property will be used for additional space for county offices in the future.
Nov. 5
Lisa McCool-Rataczack and Richard Huston, with McDonald County 911, met with Commissioners to discuss 911 policies and procedures for distributing phone numbers and addresses of McDonald County residences.

Bobby Dean House. Driver/ front seat passenger failed to wear properly adjusted/ fastened safety belt. Guilty plea. Fine of $10.
Joey W. Ivie. Driver/front seat passenger failed to wear properly adjusted/ fastened safety belt and failed to display plates on motor vehicle/trailer. Guilty plea. Fine of $136.50.
Misty Jade Parker. Driver/ front seat passenger failed to wear properly adjusted/ fastened safety belt. Guilty plea. Fine of $10.
