Carol Sue Ames, 73, of Noel, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, in her home, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 9, 1945, in Noel, the daughter of Harvey and

Anna Lee (McGrew) McQuillan. She was a lifelong resident of Noel and was a 1964 graduate of Noel High School. She worked at Ralston Purina in Noel for over 25 years and was also an Avon sales associate for over 35 years. She enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were mushroom hunting, tending to her flower beds and bird watching. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Tommy Beck; and four siblings, Ed, Virginia, Bertha Lee and Laura Jean.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Sammie Ames of the home; three children, Tommy Beck (Corky), Mike Beck (Kimberly) and Jeff Beck (Heather), all of Noel; 13 grandchild­ren; and a brother, Bob McQuillan.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home with Brother Hank Gorman officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the Saratoga Cemetery.

Ozark Funeral Home in Noel is in charge of arrangemen­ts. (Cleo) Burton and Jessie; mother, Reta Bachman Burton Smith of Anderson; and father, George Michael Burton of Noel Mo.; several grandchild­ren; aunts and uncles; friends; and a host of loved ones that will miss him.

A private memorial service was held at his mother’s home in Anderson Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019.
