Gloria Ellen (Shambaugh) Crosby, 77, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born Oct. 21, 1942 , in Neosho, Mo., to Daniel Franklin Shambaugh Jr. and Leila A’leese Blankenshi­p Shambaugh Crabtree. She grew up in Noel, graduating high school from Noel in 1960. She earned an associate’s degree from Southwest Baptist College in 1963, a bachelor of music degree from Union University in 1966, and a master’s degree in Christian education degree from Southweste­rn Baptist Theologica­l Seminary in 1973. She married Paul Franklin Crosby on Aug. 14, 1966. She worked as a music therapist, served as missionary to Mexico, served as a pianist and Bible study leader, developed a correspond­ence course program for those in prison and authored a book about the history of Barry County. She resided outside of Stella since 2004.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Sharon Shambaugh Dubbs.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Crosby; children, Jeremy Crosby and Kimberly Duncan (Norm); six grandchild­ren; and her brother, Franklin Shambaugh (Ella).

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to CARE Net of Neosho in her honor.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Brother Buddy Funk and Norm Duncan officiatin­g. Burial followed in the Noel Cemetery.

Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Mo., with Pastor Jeffrey Miller officiatin­g.
