Gloria Piedrafita passed away October 27, 2018 at the age of 86.

She was born March 4, 1932 to Ben and Ida Tabar in Los Angeles. During her childhood she also lived in Oxnard and Crows Landing. She graduated at the top of her class from Orestimba High School in Newman. She was a student at Sacred Heart College for Women in San Francisco and at Mount Saint Mary’s College in Los Angeles, where she studied nursing.

Prior to completing her college education, she married Ralph Piedrafita in 1952. When Ralph finished his time in the Air Force in 1954 they moved to the Piedrafita family dairy farm in Chowchilla. There she raised her children and enjoyed the friendship of her wonderful Dairyland neighbors.

She worked at several jobs through the years and was a co-owner of Ms. Kringle’s gift shop with her dear friend Bonnie Hansen. After Ralph’s passing in 2001 she moved to Fresno where she resided for the remainder of her life. She was a resident of Chowchilla for more than 50 years.

She was a kind and generous person who enjoyed her family and friends, country music, traveling, painting, watching baseball, and chocolate. She loved following her Facebook friends and keeping up with current events on the Internet.

She is survived by her children Debbie Piedrafita, Diane Buffington, Donna Piedrafita, and Dennis Piedrafita; her sister and brother-in-law Anita and Tony Teixeira; her brother and sister-in law Dan and Deborah Tabar; and beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins
