‘Star Wars’ Facebook page shuts down sexism

Metro USA (Boston) - - GOSSIP & MUSIC -

So there’s this character in the new “Star Wars” movie named Captain Phasma, and all we know about the mysterious character is that she’s a high-ranking baddie in a chrome Stormtrooper uniform that comes with a kicky cape. Oh, and that she’s played by “Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie. But apparently some fans take issue with the character design already, as Facebook user Cody Paul commented, “Not to be sexist but it’s really hard to tell that’s female armor for me” on a photo of Phasma. Well, whoever’s handling the Star Wars Facebook page is awesome, because they replied simply, “It’s armor. On a woman. It doesn’t have to look feminine.” Right on.

STILL NOT SOLD ON THE “PHASMA” PART, THOUGH.
