Important information about safety of your newspaper
Dear Readers,
We are committed to the safety of our communities and keeping you informed during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Some of our readers have expressed concern over the safety of their newspaper. The World Health Organization has said that it is safe to receive packages during this pandemic. They said the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package is also low.
To ensure our subscribers remain safe, we have taken extra precautions in our printing and distribution centers. We continue to monitor our operation by maintaining social distancing in our facilities and working to keep our manufacturing equipment clean. Our printing process is highly automated and the staff follows CDC recommended guidelines along with our delivery partners.
We are committed to continue to deliver a printed newspaper to you during this time, but if conditions arise such as curfews, closures or conditions that make it impossible to do so, we want you to be prepared. As a home delivery subscriber, you have access to our eEdition, an online replica of our newspaper with 50-60 pages of bonus content to include a daily coronavirus digital section. Please activate your digital account, which is included with your subscription, at miamiherald.com/activate. Our customer service team is here to help you navigate any questions you have by contacting us at customerservice@miamiherald.com.
We at the Miami Herald are actively monitoring and reporting on the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation and taking immediate measures as advised by the Center for Disease Control and local health officials to support keeping our colleagues and the community safe. Now more than ever, we are grateful for your support of local journalism as we navigate these uncertain times together.
Sincerely,
Aminda Marqués González Publisher/Executive Editor
