SUNDAY’S BEST PICKS

-

8 PM G Fridge Wars Each episode of this new Canadian cooking competition opens as host and comic Emma Hunter visits a family’s home and performs a spontaneous “fridge raid” to check out the contents of their refrigerator, including any stored leftovers. Then she heads back to the production studio, where the family’s fridge and its contents have been replicated for two chefs, who have 45 minutes to put dinner on the table using these ingredients they’ve never seen before.

8 PM ( LIFE) MOVIE A Murder to Remember Inspired by Ann Rule’s true-crime collection “Empty Promises,” this new docudrama chronicles how Robin Rivera (Maddie Nichols) finds herself in a dire situation when her husband dies while they’re on a first-anniversary camping trip. Lost and alone in the rugged wilderness, Robin accepts help from Sam (TC Matherne), another camper she runs into — but as events unfold, it’s unclear whether Sam is protecting Robin or manipulating her to his own ends. Kevin Rodriguez, Carolyn McCormick and Leslie Hendrix co-star.

9 PM G Taskmaster This International, Emmy Award-nominated — but decidedly unconventional — game show is a British import starring U.K. actor and comic Greg Davies as the titular, all-powerful Taskmaster who doles out simple but bizarre tasks for five contestants, generally some of his other comedy colleagues. Those tasks usually are performed solo, but occasionally in teams. While simple, these chores are designed to encourage the players to think “laterally” and creatively. 9 PM ( BRV) The Real Housewives of Potomac Nigerian-American newcomer Dr. Wendy Osefo, a professor, political analyst and entrepreneur, joins the cast as the newest housewife as this iteration of Bravo’s prolific franchise returns for Season 5. Joining her are returning regulars Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett. Among this season’s story lines, Gizelle rekindles a relationship with her ex-husband, pastor Jamal Bryant — but that development poses challenges for her daughters.

9 PM ( HBO) Perry Mason Hoping to expose the connection between the skyhigh debt load of the Radiant Assembly and the ransom money being demanded by Charlie’s kidnappers, Mason (Matthew Rhys) puts Herman Baggerly (Robert Patrick) on the stand in the new “Chapter Seven.” Church elders step up their pressure on Sister Alice (Tatiana Maslany) about her promises for a “resurrection.” Strickland (Shea Whigham) loses track of a key witness, but Drake’s (Chris Chalk) detective work opens up a new avenue in the case. 10 PM ( TRAV) The Osbournes Want to

Believe Frequent paranormal explorer and enthusiast Jack Osbourne tries to win over his more skeptical parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, to his belief system in this new eight-part reality series filmed under quarantine conditions. Each episode finds Jack sharing some eyebrow-raising paranormal clips with his outspoken mom and dad, with the older generation critiquing what they see. In the series premiere, Jack shares footage of poltergeists, haunted dolls, UFOs and weird beasts that leaves Ozzy and Sharon — and their dogs — barking at the moon.

10 PM ( HBO) I’ll Be Gone in the Dark With the arrest of 72-year-old former police officer Joe DeAngelo, some chilling facts materialize that illuminate how valid Michelle McNamara’s intuition had been when she wrote “Letter to an Old Man” as an epilogue to her book, as this gripping docuseries concludes with “Walk Into the Light.” Exclusive interviews with DeAngelo’s relatives reveal his early childhood trauma and shed fresh light on his double life as serial predator and devoted suburban dad. His exfiancée details DeAngelo’s behavior that moved her to end their engagement.

10 PM ( SHO) Outcry In the docuseries’ finale, former high school football star Greg Kelley has been stuck in legal limbo for nearly two years, waiting in frustration for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to decide on his case. At long last, a decision finally is handed down by the courts, and Greg’s fate is determined. 10:04 PM ( LIFE) Elizabeth Smart:

Finding Justice Airing as a companion piece to the docudrama “A Murder to Remember,” this one-hour special finds kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart sitting down for a conversation with Candra Torres, whose chilling personal experience formed the basis for the TV movie. Torres shares with Smart her recollections of the ordeal, in which she was held hostage by a manipulative stranger after her husband died on a camping trip. Over time, she developed Stockholm syndrome, bonding with her captor. The hour also includes other exclusive interviews, police reports and courtroom transcripts.
